Pin Bauble

Thanks to Michelle you can now make this wonderful Pin Bauble at home.

Michelle has used:

Stix2 Hobby & Craft PVA Glue S57262

Polystyrene Bauble

Double Faced Satin Ribbon Silver 3mm x 5m S57187

Paint the polystyrene bauble and allow to dry.

Stick a 3" strip of 6mm wide red or brown extra strong tape along the top.

Secure the ribbon onto the tape also making a loop in the middle. 

Feed a small sequin then a larger one onto the pin then dip into PVA and stick into the polystyrene ball covering the ribbon first. This will also ensure that the ribbon is secure.

Put them in as close as possible until the whole bauble is finished.

What better way to show your Dad how much he means to you than giving him a handmade card for Father's Day this year.

Take some inspiration from Debbie Frost who has made this lovely card featuring the very versatile Printable Acetate which is one of her favourite Stix2 products.

Instructions:

Debbie has sprayed some White Card with a mix of the Fabric Spray Paints which are great for paper craft too. When dry she has printed the sail boat (Sail Away JGS520) and coloured with water based pens.

She die cut an aperture from the front of the A5 Card Blank and then attached the stamped image to the inside of the card so that the boat shows from the front. Debbie then printed the words she wanted using Word on her computer and then printed it onto the Printable Acetate in the same way you would onto a piece of card.

Debbie advises leaving the Acetate to one side for a while just to allow the ink to "set" as it's slightly tacky when it comes out of the printer.

She then cut the Acetate to fit and attached it to the inside of the card with Ultra Clear Double Sided Tape. Cut another piece of White Card with the aperture to fix over this just to hide the tape and make it look neater.

Happy Easter Card

Easter is fast approaching but you still have time to make those handmade cards! Take some inspiration from Jane Collman with this fun Easter design!

Things you will need:

Instructions:

Make a 6" x 4 1/4" landscape base card from Cream Hammer Embossed Cardstock.
Cut 3 pieces of Tangerine Card 5 1/4" x 3 3/4" and 3 pieces of the Yellow Gingham Card 5" x 3 1/2"

Layer all pieces together using Tape Runner.  Die Cut letters from Tangerine Card and arrange on card.  The Glue Pen is perfect for sticking your tiny letters/embellishments.  Don't worry if you can't get letters straight, wonky is good!

Layer cardstock and add to inside of the card.

Cut a strip of the Cream Hammered Card 1/2" x 8 1/2" long. Fold every 2 1/8" and with Tape Runner, stick to inside of card as shown in finished picture.

To complete card, die cut chicks and add to card as shown.  For cracked eggs, cut an oval die shape in half and place chick behind.

What an egg-cellent Easter idea!

Instructions

Jane used a White Stardust Cracker, which are great for other occasions such as Easter or Weddings. Push out the diamond shapes and keep them as they can be glued together to make pretty star shapes etc for other projects.

If you have trouble shaping the crackers, try using a wooden rolling pin to roll them around!

Cut Orange Stardust Paper and use a Tape Pen to stick to the cracker.

Ultra Sticky Clear Tape added to the edges of the orange pieces is great for Glitter and Beads.  Use a Stix2 Clean and Clear Tray to keep your glitter in one place and excess can be easily put back into the tube.

Tie off one end of the cracker with Double Faced Satin Ribbon and insert snap if required then fill cavity with Easter goodies!

Add more ribbon tying off both ends.

To finish, a Die Cut Oval Shape makes a perfect base for an Easter chick. Cover with glitter either using PVA Glue or A4 Double Sided Sticky Tape Sheets.  A little Hot Melt Glue will hold your chick nicely on the base and the base to the cracker.

Instructions:

Using these Stix2 products, you too can create this beautiful card.

Debbie has used a Stix2 A5 Ivory Card Blank and for the panel at the centre, she has die cut a piece of Ivory Pearl Card and then passed it through an embossing folder. The delicate blue edging has been die cut using the beautiful Stix2 Stardust Card in French Blue.

She has placed a piece of Double Sided Polyester Ultra Sticky Sheet under the the die cut aperture before covering with Seed Beads from the Bead and Glitter Set.

The borders at each side are created from the Micro Beads from the same set with the Ultra Sticky Tape. The two ovals which Debbie has used for the sentiment are Stix2 Die Cut Shapes - very handy as they layer together perfectly.

Upcycling with Stix2

Upcycling is the perfect creative way to give an old pre-loved item a new lease of life. Debbie Frost has been using her crafty skills and some of her favourite Stix2 products to make a lovely photo frame.

Instructions

Using these Stix2 products, you too can create your own bespoke photo frame by following the steps below.

Firstly Debbie scrunched up some White Stix2 Tissue Paper and stuck it to the frame using Stix2 PVA Glue to give texture. She then left this overnight to dry.

Next she gave it a coat of Black Gesso Paint and left this to dry.

Debbie then used the new Stix2 2in1 Glue Pen on the texture created by the Tissue Paper. She applied the glue and then left it to go really tacky (about 1/2 hour) . At this stage it's great to use with Stix2 Transfer Foils in gold, copper and green.

The foliage for the jungle look came from Sizzix Tim Holtz "Wildflowers" Thinlets die set. Debbie took a piece of A4 Tinted Black Card and randomly applied Creative Expressions Metallic Gilding Polish in Citrus Green and Mediterranean Blue and then cut with the dies. The Stix2 Glue Pen was really great for sticking the flowers in place as it has such a lovely fine nib.

She then mounted the tiger onto another sheet of A4 Tinted Black Card and the whole thing was assembled using Stix2 Polyester Ultra Sticky Tape.

Stix2 Mount 'n' Stamp Foam - Make your own Stamps

Here are some beautiful cards by Debbie Frost who has made her own stamps using
Stix2 Mount 'n' Stamp Foam.

Stix2 Mount 'n' Stamp Foam is generally used for mounting unmounted rubber stamps onto blocks but if you run it through your die cutting system using a fairly solid die, you can create your own stamps easily.

Sizzix Bigshot Starter Kit

Instructions:

Here, Debbie has used the platform die from the Sizzix Bigshot Plus starter kit and the foam cuts very easily.

You will find that there is a "cling" side to the foam, which is the side which will attach to your acrylic block and a very sticky side, which is the side you will stamp with.

To remove the sticky just wipe with Stix2 Adhesive Remover.

For the designs above, Debbie has stamped onto a gingham background using Memento ink pads.

Spooky Halloween Box of Bats

Give your friends a spooky fright this October with this fun Halloween Box of Bats made by Jane Collman.

Things you will need:

Die Cutting Machine

Instructions:

Cut base of box shape out of Black Tinted Card and using Layer Perfect, cut decorative strips enough for both inside and out from Orange Stardust Paper.  Your Layer Perfect will also help you to position the strips before sticking with a Tape Runner. Do not stick square to base yet!

On reverse of orange base square mark the positions where you are going to cut to allow for acetate strips to be threaded through.

You will need a heavyweight acetate for this otherwise the weight of the die cut shapes will be too heavy causing it to flatten. Use the Extra Thick Acetate and cut thin strips to thread through slits as shown in photo.  Use Ultra Clear Double Sided Tape to stick base square to box.

Trim acetate and stick die cut bats to acetate strips using Ultra Clear Double Sided Tape and then decorate inside of box using the Glue Pen and Pick Up Pencil to help with placement.

Make lid from Black Tinted Card and add Orange Stardust Paper panels to outside and top only.

Decorate with more die cut bats and letters.
